Hmmm seriously? If there shouldn’t be western dressage, why would we have english dressage? Ugh.
The reason that we have English dressage is because it’s a classical form of riding. Western is a more work-oriented form of riding. It seems very odd to want Western dressage when Western isn’t about looking pretty (except in pleasure classes perhaps, I don’t know) and doing passages across the ring. Western is about doing things fast and efficient and being comfortable in the process. I mean, that’s just my thought process on the whole thing, I personally don’t think that Western and English disciplines should mix either.
